Edward F. Dillon
of Chelmsford, Army Vet; 97
CHELMSFORD -- Edward F. Dillon, 97, a resident of Chelmsford and formerly of Bristol, RI, passed away July 18, 2014, at the Atrium at Drum Hill.
He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret E. (Angus) Dillon to whom he was married for over 50 years.
Edward was born in Lowell, MA on May 22, 1917, a son of the late John and Ellen (Murdock) Dillon. He was educated in Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell High School. He then when on to receive an engineering degree from MIT, and he proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He then went on to work in many companies throughout Rhode Island as a Chemical Engineer.
After retirement, Edward enjoyed playing golf and singing in his church choir in Bristol, RI. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his daughter, Mary Ellen.
In addition to his daughter, Mary Ellen Borden and her fiancé, Gerard Prior of Chelmsford, MA, Edward is survived by a brother, Robert Dillon of Spokane, WA and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by three sisters and two brothers, Marion Dillon, Dorothy Veator, Helen Bergner, Bert Dillon, and Joseph Dillon.
DILLON -- Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 9 to 10 am at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A funeral service will follow at 10 o'clock in the funeral home. Interment will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. Funeral Director, Paul A. Hardy Jr.
