LOWELL -- Arthur 'Art" J. Lemire, Jr. passed away peacefully on July 18, 2014 at Lowell General Saints Campus after a long term illness.
Arthur was born on August 3, 1935 in Lowell, MA to Edith (Dickey) and Arthur J. Lemire, Sr. He was educated in Dracut Schools. Following his schooling, Arthur joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Alaska performing mobile artillery. After his serving his country, he moved back home and began working at Raytheon, where he was employed for 37 years as a Sheet Metal Mechanic in both the Waltham and Lowell locations. For 35 years he was also a proud member of the local union I.B.E.W. 1505. Upon Arthur's return he also met and married his loving wife of 47 years, Marcia Racicot-Piscopo. The two were married on March 19, 1966 and raised 4 children together. Arthur loved playing tennis, gardening, traveling and always seemed to have a camera at hand, ready to capture the beauty of the moment. Arthur is remembered by his wife, Marcia, his two sons; Craig A. Lemire and his wife Mary of Massachusetts, Dr. Gary Piscopo and his wife Dr. Jacqueline Thomas of Washington State; his daughters; Sandi Phillips and Dyan Piscopo of Colorado; his grandchildren; Courtney, Christopher and Sophie.
LEMIRE -- In Lowell, July 18, 2014 at Lowell General Saints Campus, Arthur J. Lemire, age 78, loving husband of Marcia R. Lemire. Family and friends may call at FAY MCCABE FUNERAL, 105 MOORE STREET LOWELL, on Thursday July 24, 2014 from 4 until 8 P.M. Mr. Lemire's Funeral Service will take place on Friday morning at 10 A.M. in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
