DRACUT, MA -- Julien A. Marion, age 91, a resident of Dracut, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Mildred "Millie" D. (Houle) (Ross) Marion with whom he shared 17 years of marriage. He was also the husband of the late Claire I. (Bureau) Marion who passed away in 1988.

Born in Lowell, MA on March 15, 1923 he was the son of the late Adelard and Aurore (Rondeau) Marion. He was a graduate of Ste. Jeanne D'Arc Grammer School and St. Joseph High School.

Julien had worked in the Construction Industry most of his life. He retired in 1988 from the City of Lowell having been the Building Manager for several years.

He was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut and was also a member of the former Ste. Jeanne D'Arc Parish in Lowell.

Julien was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving in Medical Corp. and was the recepient of the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal.

The most important things to Julien was his Faith and his Family. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his positive outlook and the Caring and Generous giving of his Time and Love.

In addition to his wife he is survived by 7 children: Judith Vervaert and her husband Paul of Lowell, Louise (Gryszkiewicz) Marion of N. Carolina, Suzanne Trudel and her husband Donald of Lowell, Adelard "Del" Marion and his wife Michelle of Dracut, Phyllis Marion of Lowell, Donna Marie O'Brien and her husband Kevin of Andover and Alfred "Fred" Marion and his wife Denise of Dracut. His 3 step children: John Ross and his wife Marie of Dracut, Stephen Ross of Los Angeles, CA and Gail (Ross) O'Kane of Minneapolis, MN. 1 sister: Jeannine Michaud and her husband Robert of Dracut. 3 sisters-in-law: Laurette Marion of Lowell and Therese Morin and Rita Chasseur, both of Nashua, NH. Also survived by 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Andre "Andy" Marion, Leandre "Prouille" Marion, Roger "Duke" Marion, Victor Marion, Donald "Chick" Marion, Claire Beaudry, Annette Lachapelle and Florence Marion.

MARION -- Family and friends may call on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the ARCHAMBAULT FUNERAL HOME, 309 Pawtucket St., Lowell. Julien's funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish (Ste. Theresa Church), 1340 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. Donations in memory of Julien may be made to the . Funeral Director Victor J. Archambault Jr. (978-459-9315).
