Alfred Rocco DeAmicis
LOWELL -- Alfred R. DeAmicis, a longtime resident of Lowell, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was married to the late Priscilla (Shepard) DeAmicis who died October 17, 2006.
Born in Chelmsford, MA on Dec. 31, 1926, he was the son of the late Victor and Laurencia DeAmicis. He attended Chelmsford High School.
He proudly served with the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Al worked as a stone cutter at Fletcher's Quarry in Westford, MA for over 40 years before retiring in 1986.
He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He loved baseball, bowling, fishing, cribbage, gardening and horse racing.
He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford.
He is survived by two sons, George and his wife, Cindy DeAmicis of Lowell, MA, and Mark DeAmicis of Marlboro, MA; eight daughters, Linda and her husband, Charles Holtzman, Mary Palmer, Martha Kalenowski, Donna Bergeron, Pamela Ostrom, Carol DeAmicis Brenda Girard, and Cheryl Ann Lee, all of Lowell, MA; a sister, Lillian Anganas of Reading, MA; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Victor DeAmicis of Chelmsford who died in 1951.
