longtime resident of Pepperell; 67

PEPPERELL -- Sheila Ellen (McCloskey) Marchand, 67, a longtime resident of Pepperell, passed away on August 17, 2014 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by her loving family.

Sheila was born in Cambridge on October 12, 1946 a daughter of the late William and Blanche (Precious) McCloskey. She was a 1965 graduate of Woburn High School where she was a co-captain of the cheerleading squad. Sheila went on to get her Bachelor of Nursing and Science at Fitchburg State University in 1988.

Prior to her retirement, Sheila was a Registered Nurse at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for many years. In most recent years she worked at the Westford Senior Center.

Being a very spiritual person, Sheila was an active member of the Harbor of Hope Christian Church in North Chelmsford and also belonged to a Course of Miracles group. She loved the ocean, going to the beach, and swimming and most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family.

Sheila is survived by her two sons, Joseph Mistretta of Chelmsford and Robert Mistretta of Fitchburg; three grandsons, Joseph Solberg, Tristan Murray and David Mistretta; her former husband, Raymond Marchand of Methuen and two sisters, Joanne Smith of Methuen and Mary Brogna of Sedona, AZ.

MARCHAND -- It being her wish, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 11:30 am at the Harbor of Hope Christian Church, 68 Princeton St., North Chelmsford. Interment will be private. Flowers may be sent to BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD, and for those who desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Ave., Haverhill, MA 01830.
