CHELMSFORD -- Laura Gertrude Wilson, age 92, died on August 21, 2014, following a brief illness. She was a resident of Chelmsford, MA from 1952 to 2010 before relocating to Birch Hill Terrace in Manchester, NH.

She was born on July 1, 1922 in Ephratah, NY to Ashley and Gertrude (Snell) Beard. She attended schools in Ephratah and Johnstown, NY and Albany Business College. She married Henry L. Wilson of Johnstown, NY on May 29, 1942. She was predeceased by her only sibling, Willard Beard.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Henry (Hank) Wilson; sons, Richard Wilson and his wife, Janice, of Pittsfield, MA, Joel Wilson and his wife, Cynthia of Blue Bell, PA; and daughter, Susan Wheeler and her husband Joseph of Manchester, NH.

She adored her five grandchildren, Stephanie Wilson, Corey Riley, Ashley Wheeler, Jennifer Wheeler, and Nicholas Wheeler; and her three great-grandchildren, Devon Malik, Jahkyse Wilson, and Olivia Laura Riley.

Laura was an avid reader and loved to travel. In retirement, she and Hank wintered in Florida and traveled the country twice.

Most of all, she loved being a devoted wife and mother and was most happy when surrounded by her family.

WILSON -- Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Tuesday at

1 o'clock at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME,

24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Chelmsford.
