LOWELL -- Jose C. "little Joe" Vieira, age 55, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Lowell General Hospital after an extended illness. For thirty seven years, he was the beloved husband of Maria F. (Andrade) Vieira.

Joe was an avid soccer fan and animal lover. He enjoyed anything that had to do with cars and would often be seen visiting with his friends at his nephew, Mario's Garage in Lowell. Most of all, Joe loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he adored.

Besides his wife Maria, he is survived by his three children, Joey Vieira, Jr. and his wife Melanie (Bettencourt) Vieira, Theresa (Vieira) Bonanno and her husband Nicholas, all of Dracut, and Jessica Vieira of Lowell; three grandchildren, Cameron, Chloe and Jax; two sisters, Maria Pereira and Maria Silva and her husband, Fernando, all of Lowell; also several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews including Mario, Sandra and Helena Pereira. He was the brother-in-law of the late Mario Pereira.
