LOWELL -- Joseph D. Anderson Jr., 68, of Lowell died Friday September 17, 2010 at the Fairhaven Healthcare Center in Lowell after a long illness.
Born in Cambridge MA on July 26, 1942, he was the son of the late Joseph D. and Mary Patricia (Meadows) Anderson. He grew up in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School with the Class of 1960.
He served with the US Marine Corp. earning the Rank of Lance Corporal.
Joseph worked as an Arborist for the Town of Concord MA for many years. An outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish. He also loved to play cards.
He is survived by a daughter and son in-law, Denise and Thomas Kellett of Hudson NH, a son and daughter in-law, Brian and Lisa Anderson of Plymouth MA, three step-children, Anne Cole of Billerica, Joseph Mucci of Windham NH, and John Mucci of Boston, three brothers and a sister in-law, Richard and Karen Anderson of Billerica, David Anderson of Derry NH, and Robert Anderson and his companion, Patti Karlson of Billerica, two sisters and two brothers in-law, Marie and John McCarthy of Stuart FL and Debora and Robert LeBlanc of Hudson NH, four grandchildren, Stephanie and Aaron Kellett, Carina and Holly Anderson, his former wives, Madeline (Mongelli) Anderson of Tyngsboro and June (Currie) Anderson of Derry NH, many nieces and nephews, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his son the late Joseph D. Anderson III who died Feb. 3, 1969 and a sister, the late Karen Vrettas.
ANDERSON -- Joseph D. Jr. of Lowell, formerly of Billerica and Chelmsford died Sept. 17, 2010. Per Joseph's wishes, there are no visiting hours. Funeral Mass Friday Sept. 24, 2010 at 9:00 A.M. in St. Theresa's Church Billerica, MA. Burial will be in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
