Dracut, U.S. Army Veteran; 81

DRACUT -- Normand H. "Norm" "Kiddo" Paquin, 81, of Dracut, died Sunday afternoon October 17, 2010 in Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Aline (Bourret) Paquin of Dracut with whom he would have celebrated 57 years of marriage in November.

Born in Dracut on October 11, 1929, he was a son of the late Emile and Alice (Boulard) Paquin. He received his early education in Sacred Heart School and was a graduate of Mt. St. Charles High School in Woonsocket RI class of 1947 where he was the goalie for the school's hockey team. He went on to earn his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Lowell.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a Private First Class in the Army of the United States.

Early in his career, Mr. Paquin had been employed by AVCO for 17 years as a Mechanical Engineer. He was also employed by the Raytheon Corporation in management for 17 years retiring in 1994.

He was a communicant of the parish of St. Marguerite D'Youville in Dracut.

Mr. Paquin was a member of the Dracut American Legion Leo C. Roth Post 315. In his free time he enjoyed tinkering in his workshop at home and was a gifted inventor. He enjoyed wintering in Ft. Myers, Florida for 16 years and he always "Loved a Parade". His most cherished times were spent in the company of family and friends, especially his beloved grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son Kenneth N. Paquin of Manchester NH, three daughters Denise Williams and her husband Jeffrey, Linda Coveno and her husband Stephen all of Dracut, and Norma Jean LeMay of Methuen; three beloved grandchildren Katelyn and Kevin Williams and Nicole Coveno, one sister Cecile Boutin of Lowell, one sister-in-law Clarisse Paquin of Dracut; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Jeanne Nadeau, Andrew and Raymond Paquin.

PAQUIN -- Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. His Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday at 8 A.M. followed by his Funeral Mass celebrated at 9 A.M. in St. Marguerite D'Youville Parish.
