DRACUT Mr. Gerard R. "Yogi" Drouin, age 84, a resident of Dracut for over 40 years, died on Saturday February 26, 2011 at Lowell General Hospital following a short illness. He was the husband of the late Doris Marie R. (Marquis) Drouin who died February 19, 1998.
He was born in Lowell on June 19, 1926, son of the late Maurice & Rose (Fisette) Drouin. Yogi served in the US Navy during World War II.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by UMass Lowell as a store keeper for 20 years. Prior to that he was the Assistant Manager of Clermont's Market. Previously he was the co-proprietor of Marquis Market in "Little Canada."
Yogi was a communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Parish in Dracut for many years. He was very active in the parish having served as a Eucharistic Minister, Altar Server and Usher, as well as on the Parish Activity Committee.
He was a member of the Leo C. Roth American Legion Post # 315 in Dracut. Yogi was also a member of the Mass Retired State & County Municipal Employees Association, the St. Jude League, St. Vincent de Paul, and the Seniors Coalition.
Yogi was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed baseball. He once played on the Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Baseball League as a catcher.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Robert & Nancy Drouin of Dracut; three daughters and sons-in-law: Therese & Mihran Keoseian of Groton, Pauline & Frank Ruggiero of Dracut and Rose & Neil Paton of Dracut; seven grandchildren, Tricia Dolan, Robert Drouin, Michelle Drouin, Jennifer Woolum, Stephanie Stacy, Daniel Paton and Shawn Paton; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews and many dear and close friends. He was also brother of the late Lillian Dufault and Rita Marchand.

Funeral SATURDAY MARCH 12 with Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 250 Tyngsboro Rd., Dracut. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
