Lived in Dracut, MA, Army & Navy Veteran; 86

HOMOSASSA, FL -- Leo J. Cote, 86, of Homosassa, formerly of Litchfield Avenue, Dracut, MA, died Tuesday, April 17 at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton, FL.

He resided in Dracut for 30 years before moving to Florida 24 years ago following his retirement from Raytheon Company in Bedford MA where he was employed for more than 32 years.

Mr. Cote was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Eva (Chevalier) Cote.

Mr. Cote is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur J. and Karen (Crain, Wimberly) Cote from Sudbury, MA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and James A. Chandler from Bradenton, FL, Susan Preisig and Ernie Preisig from Pepperell, MA; a brother, Raymond Cote of Homosassa, FL; and a sister, Marie Theresa Dufour of Fitchburg, MA; grandchildren, Jeff Chandler and his wife, Stacey, Lisa (Chandler) Baumgartner, Christine (Chandler) and her husband, Ryan O'Loughlin, all from Bradenton, FL; Katie Preisig from Boston, MA, Daniel Preisig from Bradenton, FL, Andrew Preisig from Pepperell, MA; Michelle Cote from Bradenton, FL, Ben Cote from Boston, MA; Jared Wimberly of Orlando, FL, Ryan Wimberly of Boston, MA, Brendan Wimberly of VT, Tyler Wimberly of Sudbury, MA; seven great-grandchildren; and 39 nieces and nephews. As well as a very dear friend, Nell Willoughby.

Mr. Cote was born in Leominster, MA on August 20, 1925, son of the late Luc and Elsie (Fluet) Cote. Mr. Cote was preceded in death by his brothers, Oscar, Armand, Paul, sisters, Yvette, Rachael, and Claire, Irene Dubuque, Cecile Guilmette, and Rita LeBlanc.

Mr. Cote served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946, and US Army from 1947 to 1950.

Leo loved playing cards and watching golf, the Red Sox and Patriots.
