LOWELL -- Chrisanthe Tasiopoulos, passed away on September 16, 2012, at the age of 84 while visiting Greece.
Chrisanthe was born on March 25, 1928 in Rodia, Greece. She was the daughter of the late Evangelos and Athena Bandis.
She was married to Vasilios Tasiopoulos in January of 1958, and moved to the Acre section of Lowell where she raised her family.
She worked in Lowell for many years before retiring in the 1980s.
She was a communicant of The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and a member of the Pan Macedonian Society.
She is survived by her husband, Vasilios; her sons, Harry and his wife, Erin of Dracut, Evan of Lowell; and her daughter, Athena of Quincy. She will be missed by her loving grandchildren, Stephanie and James of Nashua, NH and Alexander and Christian of Dracut. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her sister, Olympia Zgonis, and her brother, Argidi Bandis.
We will miss Yia Yia's smile, quick wit, her stories and the love she had for all of her family.
Chrisanthe was laid to rest in the place of her birth, Rodia, Greece.
