Loving mother, grandmother, and sister; 89
CHELMSFORD -- Dorothy F. (Colucci) Henry, 89, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, died Friday, November 16th, 2012, at Lowell General Hospital.
She was the wife of the late David E. Henry, Sr., to whom she was married for over 50 years.
She was born in Somerville on April 2, 1923, and was a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Josephine G. (Noonan) Colucci. She received her education in Medford schools and was a graduate of Medford High School. She also attended secretarial school in Boston.
Dorothy spent her life tending to the needs of her home and family. Earlier in life, she was employed as a civilian secretary by the United States Coast Guard Signal Corps during World War II, where she met her husband,
She was an avid reader and she enjoyed cooking, latch hooking, and spending time with her loving family. She was also an animal lover, especially her faithful Rottweiler, Moxy.
She is survived by her son, David E. Henry, Jr. of Chelmsford; her daughter, Janet F. Taylor and her husband, Michael of Gardner; three grandchildren, Courtney Beal and her husband, Maj. Andrew Beal, US Army, of Fort Leavenworth, KS, Christopher J. Hull of Athol, and Jeffrey D. Hull of Chicago, IL; three great-grandchildren, Kyle Beal, Grace Beal, and Isabel Hull; a sister, Mary Mabie and her husband, Reginald "Buddy" of Malborough; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister and sister-in-law of the late Carlene and Richard Intoppa.
HENRY -- Visitation will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD on Tuesday from 9:30 until 10:30 am, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 o'clock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Lowell General Hospital Building Fund, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854 or to the North East Rottweiler Rescue, PO Box 510, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
