CHELMSFORD -- Mary V. (Martin) Jones, 98, died Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Lowell General Hospital with family by her side.
Born July 17, 1914 in Methuen, Mary was the daughter of Albert and Lena (Donegan) Martin and received her education in the Lawrence school system.
She worked for 10 years at the former Arlington Mills, and was an assembler for 18 years at the Raytheon Company in Shawsheen and Lowell before retiring in 1979.
According to her family Mary enjoyed sewing, crafts, reading, visiting with her neighbors on her porch and, especially, Sunday rides with her husband.
Mrs. Jones was the widow of Ralph V. Jones who died in 1998.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Barbara J. Doole of Chelmsford; four grandchildren, Kristen M. and her husband, David Dussault of Nantucket, MA, Steven J. Doole of Lowell, MA, Leah J. Carver of Pelham, NH, and Mark J. Iannazzo of Virginia Beach, VA; sisters, Catherine Kenney of Methuen, MA, and Theresa Foley of Lawrence, MA; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by her daughter, Carol A. Rondeau, son-in-law, John T. Doole, her brothers, Frederick, Albert, Vincent and John Martin and sister Dorothea Reardon.
Mary's family would like to express their appreciation for the attention that was given her in her final hours at Lowell General Hospital, particularly by the ICU nurse and a special thank you to everyone at Sunny Acres in Chelmsford for the loving care given to Mary during her residence there.
JONES -- A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock in Saint Monica Church with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery of Lawrence.
