Lifelong resident of North Chelmsford; 87

NORTH CHELMSFORD -- Phillis A. (Burton) Lovett, 87, a lifelong resident of North Chelmsford, passed away Thursday, December 27th, 2012, at The Palm Center in Chelmsford. She was the beloved wife of the late George S. Lovett, Jr. who died in 2003.

She was born on March 23, 1925 in Chelmsford, a daughter of the late Harry E. and Doris E. (Luke) Burton. Phillis was a Class of 1943 graduate of Chelmsford High School.

Prior to her retirement, Phillis was employed as a waitress by the Blue Moon Restaurant in Lowell, Valley Steakhouse in Andover, Hilltop Steakhouse in Saugus, the Independence Grill at the Radisson Hotel in Chelmsford, and Anthony's Inland Pier in Tyngsboro.

She was active with the Girls Scouts of America and was a troop leader for many years.

She was a longtime member of the West Chelmsford United Methodist Church in Chelmsford.

She is survived by six children, Doris E. Garnhum and her husband, George of North Chelmsford, Phillis A. Rock and her husband, Conrad of Chelmsford, George B. Lovett and his wife, Debra of Kissimee, Fl, Lynn D. Davis and her friend, Jeanne Lane of Windham, NH, Donna G. Sainato and her husband, Dennis of Nashua, NH, and Darren C. Lovett of Pepperell;
16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Evelyn M. Roberts of Quincy, Claire Dunning of Assonet, Lorna Aham of Lowell, Thelma M. Vance and her husband, Richard of Pepperell, and Sylvia Pokraka and her husband, Earl of W. Warwick, RI; her brother, Vernon L. Burton and his wife, Helen of Chelmsford; and many nieces and nephews.

LOVETT -- Phillis A. (Burton) Lovett. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 o'clock at the funeral home. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Chelmsford.
