PEPPERELL -- Norman P. "Frisco" Paradis died January 19, 2013 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston.

He was born in Leominster, May 6, 1924, son of the late William J. and Hazel (Lucier) Paradis, and was the husband of the late June B. (Jay) Paradis.

He attended the schools in Pepperell and enlisted in the United States Army where he served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater serving in New Guinea and Luzon campaigns. He also served in the United States Navy and the Massachusetts State Guard.

Employed at the A&P in Pepperell in his earlier years, he later spent most of his working years at the Pepperell Paper Company in Pepperell and the James River Paper Company.

He was a member of the American Legion and was a Life member of the Pepperell V.F.W. Post #3291, where he served as Post Commander in 1961 and1962, as well as the District 15 Quartermaster. He also was a member of the Pepperell Fire Department Engine Company #1, serving as the assistant clerk from 1953 and 1954 and as Clerk from 1954 to 1968.

He is survived by his children, Denis A. Paradis of Pepperell, Thomas L. Paradis of Fitchburg, Edwin J. Paradis of Pepperell, Douglas W. Paradis of St. Petersburg, FL, and Rhonda P. Dion of Nashua, NH; also by 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was also the father of the late David P. Paradis.
