Loving mother and grandmother

LOWELL -- Charlotte T. (Bedard) Landry, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family at D'Youville Senior Care Center on Wednesday, March 6, 2013.

She was predeceased by her husband, Hector J. Landry, who died in 1980.

Charlotte was born in Lowell on February 16, 1921, a daughter of the late Ludger and Cecile (Giroux) Bedard. She resided in Lowell all her life and was a graduate of St. Joseph's Grammar School and Lowell High School.

Her greatest joy was time spent with her children and grandchildren attending many of their events. She enjoyed summer vacations at the beach, playing cards, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and cooking. Charlotte and her husband enjoyed many weekends at the White Mountains with dear friends. She was also a caregiver to her parents and several relatives for many years.

She leaves behind eight children, Suzanne Morin and her husband, Raymond, Roger Landry and his wife, Marjorie, Michele Turcotte and her husband, Robert, Daniel Landry and his wife, Denise, Jacqueline Dubuque and her husband, Paul, Jeannine Bergeron and her husband, Thomas, Charlotte Beausoleil and her husband, Dennis, Anne Marie Schermerhorn and her husband, Glen.

Whoever said one person can't change the world for the better never met our mother. She will be truly missed by those who knew her.

She also leaves behind 28 Grandchildren, Melissa Mierzwa, Paula Mattsen, Peter Morin, Renee Wheeler, Daniel Morin, Carolyn Landry, Patricia Landry, Jeffrey Turcotte, Nicole Nolan, Christine Pare, Jennifer Tarini, Kerri Galvin, Kathleen Drinan, Pamela Morgan, Michael Dubuque, Elizabeth McDonald and Amanda Dubuque, Danielle McFadden, Brian Bergeron, Timothy Bergeron, David Beausoleil, Lauren Trombly, Allison Chambers; Bret, Kyle, Courtney, Nicholas, and Tyler Schermerhorn; 43 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was predeceased by her brother, Marcel Bedard, and his wife, Pauline, her brother-in-law, Louis Landry, and his wife, Dorothy, and her sister-in-law, Estelle Landry.

LANDRY -- In Lowell, March 6, 2013 at D'Youville Senior Care, Charlotte T. (Bedard) Landry, 92, a lifelong Lowell resident. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL, on SUNDAY from 3 until 8 P.M. Mrs. Landry's Funeral will begin on MONDAY MORNING, March 11, 2013 at 9 o'clock from the Funeral Home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 o'clock at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH (Lower Church), 144 East Merrimack St. Lowell. Her burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chelmsford. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Charlotte's memory may be made to the Merrimack Valley Food Bank, 735 Broadway Street, Lowell, MA 01854, or to the Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund, 3 Fayette Street, Lowell, MA 01852.
