Frederick C. Stec Sr.
of Dracut, WWll Vet; 88
DRACUT -- Frederick C. Stec Sr., 88, passed away Wednesday, April 10th, at Lowell General Hospital-Saints Campus. He was the beloved husband of Constance (Jodoin) Stec with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.
Frederick was born in Lowell on September 6, 1924, a son of Anna (Kubit) and Casimierz Stec. He received his education in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School, where during his career he played for the football team. After high school, he proudly served his country in the Coast Guard during World War II.
After his honorable discharge he became a licensed plumber, first working for the Plumber's Local Union 132 in Lowell. In 1975, he worked for the Greater Lowell Technical High School in Tyngsboro, until his retirement in 1991.
Frederick was an avid New England sports fan, and especially loved the Red Sox. He also greatly enjoyed spending time with his loving wife and family. He was member of the American Legion and a former member of the PAV.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Frederick C. Stec Jr. and his wife, Cathrin of Dracut, Nancy L. Loughery and her husband, Donald of Jamison, PA, and Brain D. Stec of Dracut; and his seven grandchildren, Richard, Christine, Adam, Brandon, Brooke, Zachary and Jeremy; as well as one great-granddaughter, Avery.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Leo and Mike Stec who had resided in Lowell.
STEC -- Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, April 15th from 4-8 pm at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. His funeral will take place from the funeral home at 9 am TUESDAY, with his funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 am in St. Michael Church on Bridge Street in Lowell.
