Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother

DRACUT, MA -- Louis J. Chandonnet, 77, died Thursday, May 2nd, 2013, at Lowell General Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of Jeanne L. (Bourgeault) with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.

Louis was born in Lowell, on July 13, 1935, son of the late, Ernestine (Bilodeau) and Telesphore Chandonnet. He was educated in Lowell and a graduate of St. Joseph's High School.

For over 20 years, Louis worked as a Stationary Fireman for Interstate Container, Corp., in Lowell.

Louis loved to garden, and was an avid baseball fan, and loved jigsaw puzzles. He was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut and was a member of the Parish Club. He enjoyed taking walks, but most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Along with his wife, Jeanne, Louis is survived and will be deeply missed by his four children, Daniel P. Chandonnet of Dracut, Michele S. Chandonnet-Girard and her husband, Steven of Blue Bell, PA, Paul R. Chandonnet and his wife, Heidi of Gladwyne, PA, and Renée McEvoy and her husband, Dennis of Dunstable, MA; four beloved grandchildren, Tara Chandonnet, and Brady, Haley and Benjamin McEvoy; and his sister, Gabrielle Lamy and her husband, Marcel of Bethany, CT.

CHANDONNET -- Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 2-6 p.m. on SUNDAY, May 5th at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. His funeral will take place from the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Monday with his funeral Mass to follow at Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Church at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louis' name to the of MA. 460 Totten Pond Rd., Suite 400, Waltham, MA.
