Kathleen "Kay" R. Cahill
of Lowell; formerly of Dracut; 81

LOWELL -- Kathleen R. "Kay" (Costello) Cahill, 81, of Lowell, a member of a widely known Greater Lowell family, died Monday morning at Lowell General Hospital -- Saints Campus.

She was the wife of the late William F. Cahill who died June 27, 1982.

Born in Dracut, Massachusetts, July 28, 1931, the daughter of the late John J. and the late Catherine A. (Delehanty) Costello, she attended Dracut Schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School in the Class of 1948.

An account representative with GMAC for over 30 years until her retirement, Kay began her career as a legal secretary for the Lappin and Fitzgerald Law firm in Lowell.

Kay was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church where she was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality of her parish.

A proud graduate of Dracut High School, she was an active member of the 1948 Class annual Reunions.

Kay is survived by her sister Norma L. Sheppard of Dracut; a brother Walter A. Costello of Lowell; a brother in-law Thomas Cahill of Lowell; a sister-in-law Janice Costello of Dracut; eight beloved nieces and nephews Robert Sheppard and his wife Sheila of Dracut, Judith Sheppard -- Silva and her husband Arthur of Kingston, NH, Kathleen Costello and her fiancé Robert Oliver of Raymond, NH, Karen Green and her husband Jack of Lowell, John Costello and his wife Faith of Pelham, NH, James Costello and his wife Deborah of Raymond, NH, Thomas Costello and his wife Nancy of Milford, NH and Michael Costello and his wife Julie of Newton, NH; many grandnieces and grandnephews among them her caregiver Erin Mullin Cantwell of Ayer; several great- grand nieces and nephews; her neighbor and friend Bill Roy of Lowell and many dear and lifelong friends.

Kay was also the sister of the late Richard J. Costello and the late John J. Costello, sister-in-law of the late Robert W. Sheppard and the late Olga V. Costello and aunt of the late Nancy Mullin Misiazek.

The Cahill, Costello and Sheppard families would also like to express their thanks and deep appreciation to the Nursing Staff at the Saints Campus of Lowell General Hospital for their care of "Our Beloved Kay".

Friends may call at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday. Her Funeral will take place from the Funeral Home Friday morning at 9 o'clock followed by her Funeral Mass to at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH (Lower Church) at 10 o'clock.
