Mary Lou (Taylor) Coalter Retired Ayer church worker, Lowell native; 79 -- AYER -- Mary Lou (Taylor) Coalter, 79, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley, Littleton. Her husband, Thomas R. Coalter, Sr., Died March 20, 1990. Mrs. Coalter was born in Lowell on May 3, 1934, daughter of the late William and Louise (Breault) Taylor, and had lived in Ayer for over 40 years. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas R. Coalter, Jr., and Marianne Coalter of Shirley; two daughters, Denise Coalter of West Groton, Dorothy Wicks of Townsend; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jeannette Taylor of Pelham, NH; one sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Jack Senecal of Ayer; seven grandchildren, Samuel Wicks, Michael Wicks, William Wicks, Kevin Wicks, Ryan Soubosky, Jennifer Hines, Jeffrey DeHorsey; 13 great-grandchildren, William Wicks, Julianne Wicks, Keith Hines, Colin Hines, Cameron Hines, Sean Soubosky, Emma Soubosky, Nicholas Soubosky, Lucas Dehorsey, Casey Dehorsey, Tavish Dehorsey, Aislinn Dehorsey; close nephews, Keith and Scott Senecal, plus several other nieces and nephews. Mrs. Coalter was the sister of the late Carol Dozois and Gwendelyn Taylor. She is predeceased by her son-in-law, William D. Wicks of Townsend and her beloved friend Ruth Coke. She worked for over 20 years at the Montrath-Childrens Extended Care Center in Groton as a ward secretary. Then, Mrs. Coalter was employed at St. Mary's Rectory in Ayer as the housekeeper for 15 years, retiring in 2010. Mrs. Coalter graduated from the Immaculate Conception High School in Lowell. She was a past member and president of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a member of the Fatima Club at St. Mary's Church, and enjoyed reading mystery novels. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church for over 40 years, serving as a member of their choir, and had an extremely strong faith in her Church. Mrs. Coalter enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. COALTER -- A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am, Monday, July 8th at St. Mary's Church, 31 Shirley Street, Ayer. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
