DRACUT, MA -- Normand J. Ducharme, 86, passed away Sunday, July 28th, at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Pauline E. (Lambert) Ducharme who died in 2002.
Normand was born in Lowell, MA on May 21, 1927, a son of the late Alma (Elie) and Arthur J. Ducharme. Soon after World War II, Normand served his country proudly as part of the U.S. Army until being honorably discharged.
For 40 years Normand worked at Scannell Boiler Works in Lowell as a Boiler Maker and Crane Operator.
Normand was a longtime member of the Lowell Council on Aging Senior Center and enjoyed playing Bingo there and going on the Senior Day Trips. He loved going to Hampton Beach in the Summer and then visiting the Berkshire Mountains in the Fall.
Normand loved his family and will be deeply missed by his children, Louise Kondziolka and her husband Stephen and Ronald Ducharme all of Dracut; 3 grandchildren, Jean Daigle and his wife Adonna of Wilmington, James Daigle and his wife Sarah of Stoughton, Jason Daigle and his wife Barbara of Waltham; great-grandchildren, Connor, Timothy, Lauren, Micaela, DJ, Brandon and Tristan, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his son Roger N. Ducharme in 2000.
DUCHARME -- Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on THURSDAY, August 1st from 4 to 8 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. His funeral will take place from the Funeral Home at 8 a.m. on FRIDAY, August 2nd with his Funeral Mass to follow at Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut at 9 a.m. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chelmsford, MA.
