LOWELL -- Mrs. Marie R. (Chartier) Lagasse, age 67, a longtime resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, died on Sunday, July 28, 2013, at the Lowell General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Richard W. Lagasse.
Born in Lowell, MA on July 30, 1945 she was a daughter of the late Alfred E. and Rita M. (Descoteaux) Chartier.
Marie was a parishioner of the former Ste Jeanne d'Arc Church and more recently the Parish of Saint Rita.
Prior to her retirement, she worked in the bakery at Hannaford Supermarket in Dracut.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family, especially on holidays.
Surviving her besides her husband, are a son, Marc H. Lagasse and his Fiancée Mary Beth Thereault of Dracut; three grandchildren, Alicia J. Lagasse, Jonathan H. Lagasse and Erica L. Lagasse; five brothers and three sisters-in-law, Alfred Chartier, Jr. of Lowell, Edouard and Terry Chartier of Lowell, Paul Chartier of Lowell, Leo and Cheryl Chartier of Shirley, and Gerard Chartier of Lowell; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Theresa Emond of Lowell, Claire and Ed Prudhomme of Kittery, ME and Georgette and Richard Montmarquet of Pelham, NH; also several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Gertrude Ducharme and Edmond Chartier.

MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 308 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. ATTENDANT PARKING. Funeral Thursday morning with a funeral mass to be celebrated at 9 o'clock at the Parish of Saint Rita Church, 158 Mammoth Rd., Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
