Raymond F. Roddy

BETHESDA, Maryland -- Raymond F. Roddy, passed away on August 2, 2013, at the age of 83, at his home in Bethesda, MD.
He was born in Lowell, MA on June 3, 1930, one of 11 children.
After serving in the Navy during the Korean War, he attended Northeastern University on the GI Bill, earning a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
He moved his family to Potomac, MD in 1972, where he founded his first business, an engineering support business, which he sold in 1985. He and a partner started his second business in 1987, where he remained Chairman of the Board until his death.
He was loved by all who met him, and was friend to both prince and pauper.
He loved meeting people and his wit and wisdom were a large part of his charm.
He was a remarkable husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, employer, and friend. He will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 57 years, Lillian F. Roddy; his four children and their spouses, Mary and Robert Beatson, Timothy and Martha Roddy, Michael and Maria Roddy, and Sean and Romina Roddy; and
RODDY -- A viewing will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bethesda, MD on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 4:00 PM and a Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral procession to Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Raymond's name to a local branch of Catholic Charities.
