Harold "George" Yeaton
longtime resident of Pelham, NH; 67
CLEARWATER, FL -- Harold "George" Yeaton, 67, a longtime resident of Pelham, NH, and most recently of Clearwater, FL, died peacefully Saturday morning at Lawrence General Hospital after a brief but courageous battle with lung cancer and a final "road trip" from Florida to New Hampshire with his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Joyce M. (Potter) Yeaton with whom he recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.
Born in Lincoln, NH, October 22, 1945, he was the son of the late Perley G. Yeaton and the late Grace (Magoon) Allen. He was educated in the Haverhill schools system.
George was a tractor trailer driver for over 20 years. He worked for New Penn, Homes, and Roadway.
An avid bingo player, golf cart rider in his Florida residency, Doral Village, and pogo player. George loved spending time with his family and attending car races with his sons and grandchildren. He loved all Boston sports teams, especially the Patriots. In his spare time he enjoyed painting statues.
He loved to dance and was always the life of the party.
George is also survived by his two sons, Eric C. Yeaton and his wife Pauline, and Brian G. Yeaton and his wife Kimberly; his daughter Tammy Comtois and her husband Michael; nine grandchildren, Lisa Yeaton, Sarah Yeaton, Kyle Beaudry, Michael Yeaton, Brynn Yeaton, Makayla, Makenzie, Makenna, and Michael G. Comtois, all of Pelham; eight sisters and their husbands Pearl and Walter King, Marla and Richard Foote, Grace Couch and Bob White, Wanita and Frank O'Hearn, Suzanne and Alan Clark, Marie Armistead, Maye Holden, and Donna Stockman; a foster brother Norman Snow; and many nieces and nephews. George was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and "most cherished uncle."
He was the brother of the late Richard Coleman and Jennette Hemeon.
