Katherine (Mitzi) Busby

LOWELL -- Katherine C. (Egan) Busby, a lifelong Lowell resident, died at her home after a brief illness on Sunday, September 22. She was the widow of Joseph A. Busby who passed away in 1998 after 43 years of marriage.
Born September 28, 1932, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Edward, and the late Mary (Quinn) Egan. She attended the Immaculate Conception School and later graduated from Lowell High School.
Katherine was a communicant of the former St. Peter's Church, and resided in the Back Central neighborhood for many years. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and playing her daily numbers. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. She was also a dog lover, and especially enjoyed spending time with her beloved Pug, "Molly".
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Thomas E. Boyle of Lowell, Kerry A. Boyle-Kelly of Lowell, Kathleen E. Brewer of Hartly, Delaware, Edward A. Boyle of Lowell, Kelly A. Ducey of Hudson, NH, Kate A. Schermerhorn of Mendham, NJ, Sean D. Boyle of Lowell, and Maura A. Panneton of Lowell.
She was the beloved mother of the late Edward Busby who passed away in 2012, and she was the sister of the late Maura A. Boyle who passed away in 1999.
