NASHUA, NH -- Arthur J. LaPlante, 70, formerly of Lowell, died Tuesday, November 5th, 2013, at Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center, with his family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Lorraine E. (Langlais) LaPlante with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.

Arthur was born in Lowell, MA on March 3, 1943, a son of the late Helen (Keane) and Joseph A. LaPlante. He was educated in Lowell and a graduate of Lowell High School. Arthur also served his country proudly as a member of the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.

For over 30 years, Arthur worked as a Civil Engineer at Hanscom Air Force Base until retiring in 2003. He was also a Master Plumber in Massachusetts, as well as New Hampshire.

Arthur was a member of the LaFayette Club in Lowell. His greatest joy however, came from his family and he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them.

Along with his wife, Lorraine, Arthur is survived and will be deeply missed by his two children, Michelle C. McCarthy and her husband, Robert of Hudson, NH, and Joseph A. LaPlante and his wife, Jennifer of Manchester, NH; four cherished grandchildren, Matthew and Ella McCarthy, Daelene LaPlante and William Dionne; and also several nieces and nephews.

LaPLANTE -- At Arthur's request, there are no calling hours. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 8th at 9:00 A.M. at St. Rita's Parish in Lowell. Burial will be private.
