Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister; 71

PELHAM --Mary B. (Graney) Carey, 71, of Pelham, died Thursday, January 30th at home with her loving family by her side following an extended illness. She was the beloved wife of James J. Carey with whom she celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on October 4, 2013.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, October 5, 1942, the daughter of the late Arthur and the late Mary Bridgett (Thornton) Graney, she attended Jamaica Plain schools and was a graduate of Julie Billiart Catholic High School in Boston in the Class of 1961.

Before retiring, Mary was employed as a Data Entry Clerk with the IRS in Andover for over 25 years.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Rhythm of New Hampshire Show Chorus which is part of the Sweet Adelines International Acapella Singers.

Among her many activities, Mary enjoyed singing, yard sales and a good cup of tea. But above all else, being all about family, she loved spending quality time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Jim, Mary is survived by five daughters, Rosanne B. Callahan of Hudson, NH, Julianne E. Mascola and her husband, Andrew of Nashua, NH, Marianne C. Carey and her husband, John Peery of Jessup, MD, Carolanne T. Wlodyka and her husband, Nicholas of Hudson, NH, and Katianne B. Cunha and her wife, Tilla of Dover, NH; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Frank Graney of Tewksbury, MA, Thomas Graney and his wife, Geraldine of Saugus, CA, and John Graney and his wife, Margaret of Wilmington, MA; and many nieces and nephews.

CAREY -- In Pelham, Jan. 30, 2014, at home, Mary B. (Graney) Carey, 71, of Pelham, wife of James J. Carey. Friends may call at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME, 11 NASHUA RD. in PELHAM from 4 to 8 P.M. on Monday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass to be celebrated Tuesday morning at ST. KATHRYN CHURCH in HUDSON at 10 o'clock. Burial in Gibson Cemetery in Pelham.
