DAVENPORT, FL -- Charles A. O'Wril, Jr., died February 9, 2014 in Davenport, Florida. He was 74 years old.
He was born on October 4, 1939, son of the late Charles A. And Elizabeth (Morrison) O'Wril of Lawrence. He attended school in Lawrence, Salem, NH, and the University of NH.
He was the beloved husband of Dorothy G. (Hartwell) O'Wril with whom he was married to, for 51 wonderful years. They loved to travel as often as possible.
He served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served as a Constable for the City of Lowell. He was also employed at Alcatel-Lucent in North Andover, which he retired from, in 2001.
Charles spent most of his married life in Lowell and was an active member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Lowell and St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Clermont, FL. He was an active member of Freemasonry. Being a Past Master of Ancient York Lodge AF & AM of Lowell and also a Past Master of Merrimack Lodge F & AM of Haverhill. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies of Lowell, where he served as Sovereign Prince. The York Rite Bodies of Lowell where he served as High Priest, Illustrious Master, and Commander. He also was a Past Patron of Puritan Chapter No 54, Order of the Eastern Star.
He was a member of the Massachusetts Consistory where he enjoyed taking part in the degrees. In 1991 he received the honorary 33rd degree from the Supreme Council, of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He had the honor of serving the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Massachusetts as their Grand High Priest from 2003-2005. Upon moving to Davenport four years ago he became a member of Clermont Lodge No 226 of Clermont, FL. He was also a member of many affiliated Masonic organizations in both MA and FL.
He was also survived by their son, Charles A. O'Wril, III and his wife Julie (DeForest) O'Wril, three grandchildren Charles Andrew O'Wril, Thomas Michael O'Wril, and Samantha Anne Grace O'Wril all of Lowell, a sister Charlotte (Barton) Belanger of Hobe Sound, FL and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Lowell, MA on Sunday, April 27th at 4:00 PM.
