Loving father and grandfather

CHELMSFORD -- Leslie L. "Sonny" Dukeshire Jr., of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2014, at home, aged 75 years.

Born in Lowell on February 27, 1939, a son of the late Leslie L. Dukeshire Sr. and Jennie (Nichols) Dukeshire.

Mr. Dukeshire was retired from the Chelmsford Highway Department.

He loved to play scratch tickets, Tiger Wood's Golf on PS3, and Yahtzee on the iPad. Sonny was also an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching baseball, hockey, basketball, golf and football. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by five children, Richard J. Dukeshire of Dracut, Donna M. Dunne and her husband, Kenneth of Chelmsford, Deborah A. Carignan and her husband, Richard of Dracut, Shelly A. Dukeshire of Dracut, and Mary Gail Mugo of Tewksbury; seven grandchildren; Jennifer, Angie, Joshua, Michelle, Katherine, Michael and Kenneth; and six great-grandchildren, Kaylene, Teyiah, Danny, Sydona, Javien, and Madelyn.

He was the father of the late Kenneth M. Dukeshire.

DUKESHIRE -- In Chelmsford, April 8, 2014. Leslie L. Dukeshire Jr., of Chelmsford, aged 75 years. His Celebration of Life and memorial service will be held privately.
