Alice Mailloux Obituary

Alice M. Mailloux
Loving wife, mother, grandmother,

and great-grandmother

DRACUT -- Alice M. (Laforge) Mailloux, 98, a Dracut resident, died Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at a local health care facility with her loving family by her side.

She was the wife of the late Adrien J. Mailloux who passed in 1983.

Born in Lowell on February 9, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Archille and Emilianna (Bousquet) Laforge. Mrs. Mailloux attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School.

Mrs. Mailloux was employed as a stitcher at Nu-Knit and Suffolk Knitting and during World War II made parachutes for the war effort.

She was busy raising her family of eight children but still found time for real estate where she was a savvy business woman owning several rental properties.

Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, bowling, bingo, watching Red Sox baseball and occasional trips to the casino.

She was a communicant of St. Francis Church, but years back while she resided in the Centralville section of Lowell she was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Pauline Mailloux and Lorraine Mailloux, both of Dracut; three sons, Maurice Mailloux and his wife, Nancy of Agawam, Peter Mailloux and his wife, Judy of Haverhill, and Charles Mailloux and his wife, Meg of Barrington, RI; a sister, Aurora Manahan of No. Chelmsford; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Mailloux of FL; 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Mailloux and his wife Mildred, Paul Mailloux and Roger Mailloux, three siblings, Anna Gagniere, Henry Laforge, and Archie Laforge.

MAILLOUX -- Relatives and friends are invited to Alice's Life Celebration on Friday from 4 until 8 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 11 AM in St. Francis Church, 115 Wheeler Rd., Dracut. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
