Priscilla Farrell Obituary

Priscilla Gail (Henry) Farrell

Lansing

Priscilla Gail (Henry) Farrell, of Lansing, departed this earth on March 31, 2014.

Gail was born in North Platte, Nebraska, July 18, 1949, to LeRoy and Lois Henry. The family moved to Michigan when Gail was 14. Gail graduated from Williamston High School in 1967. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree with honors and a minor in Spanish from Justin Morrill College at Michigan State University in 1971. She was also a proud member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She married Richard Farrell in 1984, and together they lived in Grand Ledge. Gail worked for the State of Michigan for a number of years where she utilized her Social Work degree as well as her Spanish. She joined the family Burger King business (H&H restaurants) in 1979. She worked in marketing until becoming a Franchisee along with her sisters, selling the business and retiring in 1996.

Her greatest accomplishments were learning and studying the Spanish language and learning to scuba dive. Both achievements allowed her and Richard to travel to many warm places where they had adventures beyond what would normally be experienced by speaking only English. They made many good friends traveling and on dive trips and greatly enjoyed the warm waters and beautiful reefs and fish on their more than 500 logged dives. She will also miss Northern Michigan where she and Richard spent many summers at their cottage enjoying the inland waterway.

Priscilla Gail is survived by her husband Richard N. Farrell; and three siblings: Judith Bridger of East Lansing; Jane (Chuck) Doty of Potterville; and Matthew (Margaretha) Henry of Indianapolis. She is also survived by three inherited children: Kim (Joe) Curtis; Richard B. (Kari) Farrell; and Christopher (Sally Assiniwe) Farrell; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many dear nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Alan Henry.

She wishes to thank her family and friends who were a constant source of comfort and concern, and especially her husband who was an unwavering source of love and care during her illness.

The family wishes to invite those whose lives were touched by Gail to join them in a celebration of her life, on April 13th at Crown Plaza Suites, Aurora Room from 3 to 7 p.m. (Creyts road and St. Joe just before 496). Per her wishes the body will be cremated.

Dick, the Henry and Farrell Families:

We are so sorry for the loss of your beloved Gail. We were unaware of her illness until recently and we were so sad to hear this news. Gail was such a wonderful, nice and down to earth individual and we will miss her. We did not see her very often these last several years, but when we did see her with Dick they both glowed with love and happiness. May God hold you in His loving arms and comfort you until you all meet again.
