Jane D. Knight St. Johns Jane D. Knight, age 77, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014. She was born August 13, 1936 in Bristol, Virginia and lived her early years in Tennessee. Jane then moved to St. Johns where she attended Rodney B. Wilson High School graduating in 1954. That same year, on October 16th, Jane married Doug Knight and they were blessed with 59 years together. Jane was a stay at home mother, but as her children grew older she decided to take a job in a place she frequented often, a fabric store. While working there, she had the opportunity to share her abilities as a seamstress with others. Jane then began a career working for Clinton Bank and Trust. While there for 19 years, she became a Bank Officer and truly appreciated the camaraderie of the people she worked with. Jane also spent four years as Treasurer for Bengal Township. Jane's hobbies were sewing, reading and cooking, but most of all, she enjoyed going to the many activities her children and grandchildren participated in. Jane had a way of making everyone she met feel special and she touched the lives of so many people. She was very proud of her family and her family has always been proud of her. Surviving to cherish Jane's memory is her husband, Doug; her children, Karen (Greg) Hoffman, Kendra (Ken) Klein and Kyle (Denise) Knight; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also surviving Jane is her twin sister, Jean (Allen) Anthes; her beloved in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and long time special friends, Barb and Walt Pierce whom she loved as family. The family will receive relatives and friends 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. Private services will be held for Jane at a later date. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church 200 E. State St. Johns, MI 48879 or to the City of St. Johns to place a bench at the City Park to honor Jane and Doug Knight. Read Obituary
