Glasmacher, Astrid - Dewitt  
Astrid Margaret Glasmacher Astrid Margaret Glasmacher, age 16, died on Sunday, June 12, 2016. Astrid was the daughter of Margaret Anderson-Kennedy Glasmacher and Thomas Glasmacher. Astrid was diagnosed with Aicardi Syndrome when she was three months old and her initial prognosis was to live for two years. Astrid grew up with her parents, two little sisters and two cats.  She loved noisy things, interesting sounds and her favorite thing was crinkly paper. Astrid was a Junior Girl Scout, liked to go to school and attended the SXI class at Clinton County RESA in St. Johns. A Memorial Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, 104 E. Cass Street, St. Johns, MI on Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 5-7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Aicardi Syndrome Foundation P.O. Box 3202, St. Charles, IL 60174, https://aicardisyndromefoundation.org/donate/ would be appreciated.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com   The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI.

Greene, Fred - Williamston  
Fred Greene Williamston Fred Greene, age 90, passed away June 17, 2016, in Haslett, MI. He was born January 28, 1926 in Pineville, KY to Benjamin Harrison and Martha Jane Hendrickson Greene. Fred took great pride in his career as a brick layer.  He was also a proud Marine and WWII veteran, and fought in the Battle of Peleliu, Palau Islands.  Fred loved the Detroit Tigers, going to his grandchildren's events, and also loved hunting and fishing. Fred is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James, Herbert, and Clyde; two sisters, Thelma and Mary.  He is survived by his wife, Elaine; four children, Cheryl (Keith) Johnson, Michael (Marie) Greene, Larry (Cathy) Greene, and Judy (Robert) McManaman ; one brother, Benjamin Jr (Iva Jean) of TN; and one sister, Mae of Davison; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. In accordance with Fred's request, a private family celebration will be held in the future. Those desiring may make contributions to; Hospice Compassus, 801 S. Gyger, Richard - Lansing,  
Richard E. Gyger, Sr. Lansing, Michigan Age 84, passed away on June 18, 2016.  He was born on December 11, 1931 in Edmore, MI to Fred and Mildred (Brady) Gyger.  He was a 1950 graduate of Sunfield High School; a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict; and was one of the founders of the Portland Trail Riders.  He was a machinist at General Motors from 1960-1990.   Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Dorothy; 7 children, Debra Polzin, Fred Gyger, Richard E. (Diane) Gyger, Jr., Kevin Gyger, Michael (Kathy) Gyger, Deborah (Tom) Wood, Darlene (Pat) Gearhart; 22 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Melissa Gyger, sister, Betty Ann Fleetham, and brother, Jack Gyger.  A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel with his brother-in-law, Rev. Stanley Delo officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunfield Township Cemetery.  Military Honors will be provided by Morley S. Oates Post #701, VFW.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. Tuesday until service time.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sparrow Hospice, c/o Sparrow Foundation.
