Jewell, Marion  
Marion Y. Jewell (Babcock) Mason Age 80, our loving sister, aunt, and great-aunt passed away June 27, 2015.  Born February 24, 1935 in Lansing, MI.  Marion graduated from Eastern High School. She enjoyed watching westerns. She lived around the country with her husband who was in the U.S. Army, and they eventually moving to Mason. Surviving are her 2 brothers, Lester Babcock, and Robert (Jacqueline) Babcock; brother-in-law, Dave Jewell; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Burke; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.  Marion was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert Jewell in 2008; parents, Harland Ray and Syble Grace (Sutherland) Babcock;  sisters and brothers, Grace Bielecki, Gloria Hyde, Lida Hicks, Ken, John, and Floyd Babcock; brother-in-law, Fred Jewell. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00, and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 2, in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing.  Interment will be later at Delta Center Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to Hospice of Lansing or the Alzheimer Association in memory of Marion.  Friends may visit the guest book at www.tiffanyfuneralhome.com

Johnson, James J. - Wisconsin Dells  
James J. Johnson Wisconsin Dells 75, was peacefully escorted to heaven on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. He was born August 26, 1939 to James and Jennie Johnson, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law Ron Burch. He is survived by four brothers: Ron, Duane, Larry, and Kenneth Johnson; his wife: Nancy Johnson, Wisconsin Dells; daughter: Michelle Burch; son: Mark Johnson; as well as sisters-in-law, daughter-in-law, and many grandchildren. James graduated from Holland High School in 1957, earned a Bachelor's Degree from Western Michigan University in 1961, and a Master's degree from Michigan State University. His teaching career began at Waverly High School in the fall of 1961 where he taught history, driver's education, and coached baseball and cross-country. He enjoyed sports of all kinds and especially enjoyed working as the timer and announcer for Waverly football and basketball games. He also worked as starter for many track and field events. In his retirement, he worked many other jobs and especially enjoyed serving the community along with Nancy at the voting polls. An avid runner, he completed over 25 marathons including a personal best in the 1981 Boston Marathon. He will be greatly missed. There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, July 3 at 11 am, at United Presbyterian Church of Wisconsin Dells, 730 Cedar St, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the We Have A Mission (WHAM) Fund at UPC of Wisconsin Dells with the note Memorial for James Johnson.

Johnson, Richard  
Richard A. Johnson Delta Twp. Richard A. Johnson, 82, passed away July 2, 2015 in Charlotte, Michigan.  Richard was born January 8, 1933 in South Haven, MI, son of Allen and Jennie (Lundy) Johnson.  He was retired from skilled trades at General Motors Corp. He was a long-time employee of Bohn Aluminum & Brass, and owned Johnson's Used Cars in South Haven, Michigan Richard is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bonnie, three daughters: Cynthia (Jeff) Seward, Jennifer (Scott) Conway and Heidi Johnson, two sons John (Kendra) and Ronald (Michele); five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; also brother, Donald (Sandra) Johnson and sister, Evelyn (Carl) Johnson. Receiving of friends and family will be held at Peters & Murray Funeral Home in Grand Ledge on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 beginning at 11:00 a.m., then to follow with Graveside Services at 1:00 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Grand Ledge.  For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Richard Johnson to the Center for Narcolepsy Research at the University of Illinois-Chicago, or Eaton Community Palliative Care.  Online condolences may be shared at www.petersandmurrayfuneralhome.com .
