Johnson, Rae  
Rae Jean Johnson St. Johns Rae Jean Johnson, age 79, passed away suddenly on August 19, 2015 in Lansing, Michigan.  Rae was born in Caro, Michigan in 1935 to Ray and Grace S. (Clothier) Huffman. She was a graduate of Central Michigan University and Michigan State University and was a teacher and media specialist in the Lansing Public Schools for many years. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of St. Johns, Women's Fellowship Linda Scott Circle, a Friend of the Briggs Public Library, a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, co-founder and past president of Mint Country Garden Club, and a member and judge for the American Iris Society.           She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth L. Johnson and her brother Ned Huffman. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Johnson (Ben Strumwasser) of Lafayette, California and her son Christopher Johnson (Julie) of Okemos, Michigan. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kenneth Johnson, Hannah Strumwasser, Katherine Johnson, Seth Strumwasser, and Greg Johnson.  In addition to enjoying time with family and friends, Rae enjoyed volunteer work, gardening, genealogy and books. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the First Congregational Church with Pastor William Tate officiating.  Burial will follow at the West Burlington Cemetery in Silverwood, Michigan at 3 PM. The family will receive friends at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns on Friday, August 21, from 6-8 PM.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Briggs Public Library in St. Johns or the Alpha Delta Kappa Foundation.   The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.

Sasser, Thomas  
Thom Sasser Center Point, AL Thomas Michael Sasser, 51, passed away Thursday, August 7th, at his home in Center Point, Alabama, after a long illness. Thom established himself in Lansing as a talented artist and in Alabama as an exceptional sci-fi model builder, earning the lasting respect of the sci-fi modeling community. Thom is survived by his wife Patricia; his children Natasha and Nicholas; his sister Roberta (Randy) Jones; and his parents Robert and JoAnn Sasser of Lansing.  Thom is also survived by his wife's children, Kristopher (Makayla) Carpenter and Stefanie (Graham) Davies, and six grandchildren. Thom's request for cremation was honored and there will be a graveside service at a later date. "You never know how strong you are, until being strong is the only choice you have."

Secor, Sarah  
Sarah Caroline Secor Lansing Age 33, our beloved mother, daughter, sister, and grandchild passed away unexpectedly August 26, 2015.  Born September 3, 1981 in Lansing, MI.  Sarah was a 1999 graduate of Eastern High School and attended Ferris State. She loved music. Surviving are her daughter, Caralee Gwen Milbourn; parents, William , Jr. and Jackie Secor; sister, Nicole (Edward) Saade;  brother, Stephen (Katie) Secor; grandparents, Glen and Bethany Alward; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.   Sarah was preceded in death by her mother, Sheri Alward. Memorial Services will be 5:00 P.M. Sunday, August 30, at Valley Farms Baptist Church, 1141 E. State Rd., Lansing, MI  48906 with Pastor David Leisman officiating.  Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday at church. Contributions in memory of Sarah may be made to Caralee's Education Fund in care Bill Secor.
