McAdams, Louis  
Louis Allen McAdams Lansing Louis McAdams, 89, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, March 2, 2015.  Louis was born at home on April 21, 1925 to Cyril A. and Wanieta G. (Hudson) McAdams.  He married the love of his life, Leone Martha (Foster), on February 20, 1953 in Blanchard, MI.  Louie worked for 47 ½ years at Melling Drop Forge.  Louie enjoyed bowling, had an appreciation for history, remembering dates and trivia.  He had a talent for storytelling and through that shared rich family history.  Louis was preceded in death by his parents, brother Harold A. and his wife Leone of 41 years.  He is survived by his children Robert McAdams, Carol (Pete) Wisniewski, Leon McAdams, Cheryl (Mike) Woodruff and Carla McAdams; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; his brother Eugene (Lena) McAdams; and many nieces and nephews.    Funeral services will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington in DeWitt, on Thursday, March 5 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m.  The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes DeWitt Chapel. Smith, Barbara - Portland  
Barbara Ann Smith Portland Age 74, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2014. She was born on June 14, 1940 in Portland, MI the daughter of Robert and Ruth (LaSalle) Beard. Barb was a member of St. Patrick Church, and was a church organist for 27 years. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed knitting Christmas stockings for family and friends, enjoyed tending to her swimming pool, and babysat many kids over the years. Barb enjoyed attending her sons and her grandchildrens sporting events. She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws Isadore and Nora Smith; sisters-in-law Kathleen Smith and Jackie Smith; brother-in-law Daniel Smith. Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Ronald Smith; sons Mark (Amy) Smith, Scott (Nikki) Smith and Steve (Adie) Smith; grandchildren Tyler, Jerrid, Mackenzie Smith, Hailey McRoberts, Allysa Smith, Nicholas Smith, Shelby Chapco and Channon Smith; sisters Mary Beard and Faith (Roy) Kissane; brothers-in-law Don (Mary) Smith, Tom Smith and Dave Smith. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Larry King at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 6, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. A Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Patrick Athletic Association, in memory of Barb.
