Lynda M. Allen Holt Lynda M. Allen, 67, of Holt, (formerly of Lansing) went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 18, 2015. She is survived by her daughters, Lori Barner (Michael) and Jamie Diamond (Leonard); grandchildren, Jessica Barner (Ross Hagfors), Kaitlyn Barner, Ian Richardson and Brendan Diamond. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at South Church of the Nazarene, 401 W. Holmes Rd., Lansing, MI 48910.

Bailey, Monica - Portland  
Monica P. Bailey Portland Age 81, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015.  She was born on December 17, 1933 in Westphalia, MI the daughter of Leo and Bernita (Hufnagel) Pung.  Mrs. Bailey retired from TRW in Portland after 28 years of service.  Monica was a member of the Portland Women's VFW Auxiliary, volunteering her service many years in the preparation of funeral dinners.  Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Medford; sister, Clare (Dick) Cavendish; brothers, Alex (Norma) Pung and Roy Pung; brothers-in-law, Robert McNary and Donald (Mildred) Bailey; sisters-in-law, Donalta (Jim) Webb and Texa Miller.  Surviving are her children, Edward (Susan) Bailey, Richard Bailey, and Sandra (Keith) Huhn; grandchildren, Jessie (Brian) Byelich, Luke Bailey, Kelly (Mark) Wooters, and Kyle (Sonja Perakis) Huhn; great grandchildren, Harrison and Bailey Byelich, Kasen and Wren Wooters, and Julien Perakis; sisters, Leonora McNary and Rosella (Larry) Thomas; sister-in-law, Charlene Pung; brothers-in-law, William Boyd (Janet) Bailey and Clarence (Virginia) Bailey.  Also surviving is her dog, Annie.  The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland, with Rev. Dr. Marilyn V. Danielson, Pastor of the First Congregational Church presiding.  Interment will follow at Danby Township Cemetey.  The family will receive friends from 10-12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, or the Portland V.F.W. Bayes, Kym  
Kym Lee Bayes Lansing Kym Lee Bayes, age 60, of Lansing Michigan, passed away on Sunday January 11, 2015, peacefully at Sparrow Hospital. Kym is survived by his mother, Patricia Lee Bayes and his younger brother, Kelly Stephen Bayes. The unforgettable sparkle in Kym's eye belonged to Zack and Ryan Bayes, and Jenny Bayes-Schmitzer. Kym will be deeply missed by his Uncle John Lee Benedict, his niece and nephews, his extended family, friends and those that knew him. Kym is preceded in death by his father Charles M. Bayes, his brother Kirk Thomas Bayes and his sister Kerry Jo Bayes; along with his paternal Grandparents Harry "Popie" and Margaret Graves of Williamston, his maternal Grandparents Everett "Benny" and Agnes Benedict of Lansing and his Aunt Judy Benedict Leverett Hatcher. A special thank-you to cousin Krista Jo Leverett for her help and support provided over the years. The family is planning a memorial gathering at Ralph W. Crego Park, Lansing, Michigan at 3:00 pm. Bernard, Rudy  
Rudy A. Bernard Haslett Dr. Rudy Andrew Bernard passed away January 17, 2015 (age 84). He was born May 31, 1930 in New York, New York, and was preceded in death by his parents Andrew J. and Valerie (Bilodeau) Bernard.  Dr. Bernard earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Montreal; worked, prayed, and studied in Trappist and Benedictine monasteries; received a doctorate from Cornell University; and completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He worked for Michigan State University starting in 1969 teaching physiology and conducting research. After transitioning to professor emeritus status, he continued to teach and pursue research until his death. He was devoted to his students and never lost his passion for research, teaching, and mentoring. Dr. Bernard was a longtime and devoted member of St. John Church/St. Thomas Aquinas Parish. He was committed to his family, faith, music, literature, and MSU. Go Green! He is survived by his wife Nancy B. Bernard, sons Andrew (Lisa) Bernard (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) and Daniel Bernard (Okemos, Michigan), daughter Susan (David) Maltbie (Ludington, Michigan), step-granddaughters Julia and Erin Maltbie, sister Ginette (Nick) Garafola (New York, New York), and sister-in-law Diane Bennett (Victor, New York). A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 22, 2015, at St. John Church and Student Parish, 327 MAC, East Lansing, MI with the Rev. Mark Inglot officiating.  The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, MI.   The Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM.  The family will also receive friends Thursday at the church one hour prior to the service. Those desiring, may make contributions to MSU College of Music, Music Building, 333 W. Circle Dr., East Lansing, MI 48824; or, St. John Church and Student Parish.
