Anna Elizabeth Doebler

Anna Elizabeth Doebler (Grandma Anna) Lansing Anna Elizabeth (Loncosky) Doebler, 83, went to be with the Lord, Monday May 6, 2013. Anna was born August 11, 1929 in Dudley, Pennsylvania to Peter and Josephine (Geir) Loncosky. She graduated from Saxton Liberty High School in 1946. Anna worked for the Lansing Head Start Program before going to work at the Kellogg Center at Michigan State University. After retiring she joined the Foster Grandparent program through St. Vincent's in Lansing Schools. One of Anna's great joy's in life was working with and teaching children. She spent many of her early retirement years taking care of and teaching her handicapped grand daughter Jennifer (doll baby) to recognize letters and write her name. Anna was a devout Catholic and a member of St Casimir Church for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo and bowling with friends. Anna is survived by: her sister Kathleen (Paul) Smith of Dudley, Pennsylvania, four sons: Martin (Caridad) Powers of Dewitt Twp., Christopher (Barb) Doebler of Lansing, Ralph Doebler Jr. of Lansing, John (Rachel) Doebler of Lansing and three daughters: Bernadette (Sonny Miller) Doebler of Lansing, Gloria Doebler of Lansing and Carol Ackles of Ypsilanti. Grandchildren: Joy, Paul, Marcie and Jennifer Powers, Christopher, Cory and William Doebler, Marissa Gottgetreu and William Miller; Great grandchildren: Joshua Smitley and Mariah Powers. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, brother Paul Loncosky, and grand daughter Sarina Ganser. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 11:00 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Bill Lugger as celebrant. Rite of interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel and Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
