Bradley Jaeger "Jay" Ford

Bradley Jaeger "Jay" Ford Age 21, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013, after a courageous, 15-year battle with leukemia. Jay was born September 21, 1991, in New London, Connecticut, to Stephania J. (Swanson) and Bradley W. Ford. His parents survive him, as well as a sister, Jessica, and her husband, Andrew Sawatzki. Also surviving him are his Nana Elaine Hunt; Uncles Richard, Timothy, Matthew, and Jared Swanson, Chris Ford, Scot Metcalf, and Billy Faust; aunts Linda Faust, Barb Cook, Bethany Swanson, Beth Metcalf, and Julie Ford; nieces Victoria, Mercedes, Kelsey, and Nicole Swanson; and many, many special friends. Jay was a 2009 graduate of Perry High School, Perry, Michigan, and had been attending Lansing Community College at the time of his death. He was a serious athlete in high school, acting as a team captain in basketball, and competing on the cross country and track teams throughout high school. He competed and placed first in his age group in a sprint triathlon in Connecticut in the summer of 2008, and placed in many others. Jay tried every sport imaginable, and was a serious body builder and nutritionist. Jay also enjoyed animals, especially his Siberian Husky, Astro, all pugs, and the red pandas at Potter Park Zoo. Visitation will be held at the Perry City Hall, 203 West Polly Street, on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Perry High School, 2557 Britton Road, Perry, MI (parking at Keeney Street entrance in rear of high school). A luncheon will follow immediately after the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Bradley's Legacy, P.O. Box 894, Perry, MI 48872. This fund was established by Jay to assist in purchasing video gaming equipment, movies, and games for the Sparrow Hospital Playroom in the Pediatric Ward of Sparrow Hospital, where he spent much time and made many friends.
