Earl M. Pratt Grand Ledge Earl M. Pratt, age 88, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Sparrow Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. - Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Grand Ledge Baptist Church, 1120 W. Willow Hwy., with Rev. John Lemke officiating. Interment will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Peters & Murray Funeral Home in Grand Ledge. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Ledge Baptist Church. Earl was born November 12, 1924 in Filion, MI, son of Grant and Anna (Kleise) Pratt. He married Jean (Brader) December 6, 1947. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2008. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines during WWII, earning a purple heart at Iwo Jima. Earl and his family moved to Grand Ledge in 1964. He was an active member of GLBC, having served as a deacon and treasurer. Earl retired from the State of Michigan as an accountant for the Dept. of Treasury. Earl enjoyed his retirement years in Zephyrhills, FL, golfing and traveling. Earl lived the past five years at Ingham Regional Assisted Living. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the support and care they provided. Earl is survived by his son Jerry (Stacy) of Crystal Lake, IL, daughters Barbara (Michael) Dikos of Swartz Creek and Karen (Steve) Wilcox of Grand Ledge; grandchildren: Charles (Jenni), Chad (Keri), Zachary (Rachel), and Theresa (Tim); great grandchildren: Chloe, Michael, Meghan and Haevyn, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife of 60 years, he was predeceased by brothers: Walt, Howard, Roy and Clarence; sisters Irene and Mable.
