Eva M. Reineke

Eva M. Reineke Eva M. Reineke passed from this life peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2013. Born September 21, 1920 on the family farm in Portland, Michigan, she was the daughter of John and Olivia (Koster) Trierweiler. Mrs. Reineke was a receptionist at Oldsmobile when she met her husband, Charles Reineke. She later worked as the administrative assistant in the East Lansing Public Schools and as secretary/treasurer of her husband's company, Lans Corporation. She was past president and long-time member of the Assissium League (St. Lawrence Hospital auxiliary/volunteer league) and a volunteer at the Wharton Center. She was a resident of the Lansing area for 68 years and a longtime member of the Country Club of Lansing. More recently, she lived at Covenant Village of the Great Lakes in Grand Rapids, then at Heather Hills Care Center. She was known as a charming and gracious hostess, generous person, and avid bridge player. Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles Reineke, in 1994; her sisters, Mary Louise Trierweiler, Francis Hoffmann, and Annette Owen. Surviving are 2 daughters, Sue and Lori; a son-in-law, Larry; 2 grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie (Michael) LaRaia; 4 brothers, John (Catherine) Trierweiler, Charles (Jean) Trierweiler, William Trierweiler and Richard (Barbara) Trierweiler and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2013, at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing, Michigan. Family will receive friends at the Metcalf and Jonhkoff Funeral Home at 4291 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday and 1 hour prior to service at the church on Monday from 9-10a.m. For those desiring, memorial gifts may be made to Catholic Social Services of Grand Rapids in memory of Eva Reineke.
