Frances A. Wrzesinski

Frances A. Wrzesinski DeWitt Age 87, our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at New Life Assisted Living, DeWitt, MI. Frances was born in Lansing, MI on February 17, 1927, the daughter of Peter and Sophie Burczynski. She embraced and enbodied a strong, catholic faith. Frances' faith truly sustained her throughout her life. Early on, she worked with the City of Lansing, Dept. of Treasury and later, she and her sister owned a neighborhood store, E and F Food Market on High Street. She met and married her loving husband of 58 years, Joseph B., at the Federated Polish Home. She was a lifelong member of the White Eagle Society through the Federated Polish Home, where she shared her love of her Polish heritage. As she and Joseph were raising their family, Frances, with her unending drive, become a manager of a local H and R Block office, focusing on tax preparation for 15 years. She was a devoted member of St. Therese Parish, Lansing and later the Catholic Community of St. Jude, DeWitt. Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph B.; son, Joseph E.; great granddaughter, Elice Frances Woods; brother, Edward Maciatek; sisters, Marie Werner and Elizabeth Dembowski; son-in-law, Larry Anderson. Surviving are her children, Stephanie (Ron) Knapp, Cheryl (Thomas) Anderson-Townsend; Paul (Laurie) and Michael Wrzesinski; 7 grandchildren, Cathy Woods, Caryn Drenth, Beth Knapp-Reed, Ben Anderson, Emily Anderson-Smart, Paul, Jr. and Eric Wrzesinski; Brandon and Alexander Townsend; 14 great grandchildren also survive. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, DeWitt with Rev. Fr. Robert Irish and Rev. Fr. Dwight Ezop as concelebrants. Interment will follow at DeWitt Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. A rosary will be prayed Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. For those wishing, the family suggests donations may be made to the St. Jude Building Fund or White Eagles Society in memory of Frances.
