Geraldine Mae "Gerri" Babcock

Geraldine "Gerri" Mae Babcock Age 87, died peacefully Monday, November 7, 2011 at Masonic Pathways in Alma. Born May 20, 1924 in Vermontville, the daughter of William A. and Ethel Mae (Fieghner) Lundstrum. Gerri married Versile "Babs" Babcock on August 27, 1944 in Vermontville on the Lundstrum Family farm. He preceded her in death, on his birthday, September 28, 1992. Gerri volunteered with the "Forgotten Man Ministries" at the Ingham County Jail, shared her love of music by playing the organ at numerous nursing facilities, acted as a tutor to elementary children at Holt Presbyterian Church, loved tending her rose garden, and was a Past Matron of Mason-Dansville Chapter, #150, O.E.S. Beloved mother to David (Ali) Babcock of Northville, Steve (Mary) Babcock of Mason, Becky (Ed) Harwood of Whittier, NC, Donn (Judi) Babcock of San Jose, CA, and Mary Babcock of Chandler, AZ. Loving grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of eight, sister of Gerald (Leona) Lundstrum of Nashville, MI. Gerri was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Babcock-Smith (7/27/1997) and sister Louise Baker (5/3/2005). In keeping with her passion for helping others, she willed her body to the Division of Anatomy at Michigan State University. A celebration of Gerri's life will be held at a later date.
