Gordon E. Lantz

Gordon E. Lantz Leslie Went home to be with his Lord, Jesus, on Friday, March 01, 2013, at the age 82. He served in the United States Army as a Captain during the Korean War. Gordon worked for Fisher Body, Story Oldsmobile and Vick Rynard Truck in Lansing; Marve Smith GMC Truck, Hill Piston, and several other garages in the Jackson area. Gordon was a leader of the Boy Scouts in Leslie for many years. He also owned and operated the Barbwire Museum in Leslie. Gordon was an active member of the New Horizons Community Church for many years. He is survived by his son, Michael (Carol) Lantz of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Steven Lantz, Jeff (Kelly) Wood, Jeannine (Scott) Stern, Merideth Miers; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Norman (Helen) Lantz; one sister, Doris (Matt) Please; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; three sons, Eddy, Teddy and Mark; one grandson, Adam Lantz; several brothers and sisters, Margaret, Barbara, Ray, Pat and Carla. Funeral services remembering Gordon's life will be held at the New Horizons Community Church, 4300 Lansing Ave., Jackson, MI 49201, on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Lyon officiating. Cremation will follow with interment of cremains at Woodlawn Cemetery, Leslie. The family will receive friends at the JC Adams Funeral Home, Leslie Chapel, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Horizons Community Church, 4300 Lansing Ave., Jackson, MI 49201.
