Henry Simm Spyker

Henry Simm Spyker of Lansing, Michigan born on April 4, 1937 in Lansing, the son of the late Harry and Teresa Spyker, passed away April 8, 2014 at the age of 77.  Henry served in the Navy and the Naval reserve from 1956 through 1967.  He was also a retiree from General Motors.  Henry was a self-taught musician and enjoyed playing the organ and piano.  Over the years he served the Lord by providing music at churches including The Salvation Army and Kendon Drive Church of the Nazarene. 

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Patrick Henry Gregory Spyker and his wife, Linda Spyker.  Surviving to cherish his memory are two daughters,  Kay (Dan) Lalone and Katherine (David) Pettit both of Lansing; two sons, Stanley (Alicia) Spyker of Lansing and Henry (Patty) Spyker of East Lansing; sixteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter; another great grandchild is expected in August.  Also surviving are two sisters Ruth (Ernie) Timko of DeWitt and Carol (Phillip) Skinner of Eaton Rapids; one brother William (Carolyn) Spyker of Grand Ledge. 

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at The Salvation Army Citadel, 525 N. Pennsylvania Ave, Lansing, MI.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Henry to Mother Teresa House, P.O.
