Hildred Louise Miller

Hildred Louise Miller Lansing Loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother departed this life on September 30, 2012 at the age of 84. Hildred was born July 3, 1928 in Lansing, the only daughter of the late Gordon and Gladys (Walker) Switzer. Raised in Lansing, Hildred graduated from Lansing Sexton High School in 1946. Hildred married Bruce Arthur Miller, I on July 3, 1948; they celebrated 66 wonderful years of marriage this year. Bruce is a retired (Captain) fire fighter from the Lansing City Fire Department. The couple had two sons and Hildred loved being a homemaker and raising them. Playing golf, Bingo and wintering in Las Vegas were a few of Hildred's passions, but she had many more interests. Family was her focus and she whole-heartedly supported her husband, sons and their grandchildren through school, sports and a lifetime of activities, always with caring love and good nature, she will truly be missed. Hildred was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Hildred is survived by her loving husband, Bruce, now of Alma; her two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce Arthur Miller II and Debra Bausher of Sinking Springs, PA, and Bradford A. Miller, I and Patricia Miller, newly returned to Lansing. She is also survived by her four loving grandchildren, Brad, Laura Beth, Brent and Mark. A memorial gathering to honor and celebrate Hildred's life will be held 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Century Park Community Room, 215 N. Canal Rd., Lansing, MI.
