John David "Dave" Overhouse

John David Overhouse "Dave" East Lansing John David Overhouse "Dave" passed away peacefully at his home on January 4, 2013. A lifelong resident of East Lansing, he graduated as president of the Okemos High School class of 1964. He graduated from the University of Minnesota, becoming a commissioned officer in the U.S.Navy. He served in Vietnam where he received many commendations, including the Navy Commendation Medal. John valued his family above all else. He is preceeded in death by his parents, Josephine Margaret Overhouse and John Overhouse; sister, Judith Dukes; brother, John King; step mother, Marjorie Overhouse; and great-niece, Sydney Josephine Spear. He is survived by his sisters, Carol Suokas, Jo Overhouse Gray; brother, Jerome King; and the nieces and nephews he saw as his own children and legacy: Mark and Craig Suokas, Cheryl Neubauer, Kathryn King, Autumn Spear, Jake Gray, Kent Shelley and Janis Dukes. A Memorial service with full military honors will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery on July 26 at 230 pm.
