Marcia Jeanne Weld


61,  formerly of Lansing, died peacefully on March 14, 2014 with her family and friends by her side. She was born January 24, 1953 to Arthur W and Raye M (Dexter) Weld.  She attended Everett High School through 1970, but obtained her HS Diploma through Holt Adult Ed in 1988.  Marcia went to work for the State of Michigan in 1976 working for the Treasury, Transportation and Agriculture Departments before retiring in 2011.  After State retirement, she worked at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte as the Office Manager for the family.  Spanning many years, Marcia served as Executive Director, Secretary and Treasurer for the Morab Horse Association. Marcia served on the board of directors for 2 years with Charlotte Frontier Days and made many friends in the community.  She found her true peace of mind on 3 acres out in the country in Charlotte, Michigan in her dream home and horse stable and lived her final 18 years. 

Marcia is survived by her son, Timothy Antes; granddaughter Kiona Marie Antes; brother Larry (Debi) Weld of West Palm Beach, Florida; 3 sisters, Linda (Doug) Vaughn of Orlando, Florida, Lorraine (Jerry) Wheeler of Belding, Michigan and Suzanne (Bruce) Moody of West Palm Beach, Florida.  Marcia was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held   Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm with Rev.
