Robert Maurice "Jack" McManus

Robert Maurice "Jack" McManus Brookfield Township, Eaton Rapids Age 89, passed peacefully after an extended illness on March 1, 2014 at home under the care of family and Hospice of Lansing. Born August 5, 1924 in Hamlin Township the son of Robert and Alice McManus. Jack was a farmer in the Brookfield Community and was a very active member and Life member of the Brookfield F. & A.M. Lodge 439 and the Brookfield O.E.S Chapter 352, a Past Master of the Lodge and in 1996 Mason of the Year. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Roselyn McManus; grandson, Taylor McManus; 2 brothers, Alden and Paul "Pete" McManus. Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey L. (Susan) of Owosso, and John W. (Laurie) of Charlotte; brothers, Russell of Eaton Rapids, Doug of Charlotte, and Dennis of Eaton Rapids; sisters, Esther Harris of Eaton Rapids and Beverly (Maurice) Boyer of Munising; sister-in-law, Helen Miller of Hastings; Grandsons, Nathan of Glendale, AZ., James of Charlotte, Steven of Charlotte; granddaughter, Tessa of Okemos; step-grandsons, Kyle Ingraham of Jamesville, N.Y., Andrew Ingraham of Corunna, Alex Ingraham of Owosso and Trenton Piepkow of Charlotte; step-great grandson Wesley Ingraham of Jamesville, N.Y.; along with many nieces and nephews. A Funeral with Masonic Service will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 1:00 PM from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with Rev. Joseph Spackman, officiating. Burial will follow in the Perry Cemetery in Brookfield Township. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8PM. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to either the Brookfield Temple Association or Hospice of Lansing in memory of Jack McManus.
